I’m back! It’s only been… a year? Well, it’s been busy. Hopefully I won’t go so long between comics next time. :)

I have a feeling that this will not be the last post on Why Programmers Make Bad Spouses. It will take many, many comics before that particular fountain of inspiration dries up. Amy would probably argue that she can discover reasons faster than I can make comics, and therefore that series could go on forever. :)

I used a different process for this one. Previously, I would sketch on paper, scan it into Inkspace (on Ubuntu), do the inking and text work there, and then drop it into Gimp for the final touches. I once used Mac + Photoshop for a comic — never again. Did not like the results, and besides, Photoshop doesn’t run on the best operating system ever.

Anyway, for this one I used an open source (shocker) program called “MyPaint“, which is pretty simple yet still lets me do everything except the text work. I know this one looks pretty simple — that’s not the program’s fault, that’s because I’m lazy. :) I did a slightly different look for a comic I made for my work, and these are barely scratching the surface of the different looks you can get with it.

So that’s all for this comic. Let me know in the comments if a.) you’d like to see more, b.) you wish I’d stop polluting the internet with my dangerous open-source propaganda, or c.) you are lost on the interwebz and need directions to Denny’s.
